What We Did in 2010

    A look back...
  • I was preggers!!
  • We went on a Baby Moon to Gatlinburg.
  • I had a million eye surgeries.
  • Spent the first 2 months of the year laying on the couch.
  • We moved to a new house and sold our old one.
  • My dad got sick and I had never been so scared in my life.
  • I finally realized my dad was not invincible.
  • Lost a Grandmother and an Aunt
  • Did LOTS of EXTRA praying...
  • Did lots and lots of Thanking...
  • Paid off my car!
  • Had our first baby!!
  • It was a million degrees outside
  • Lost a lot of sleep.
  • Carter had his 1st birthday!
  • We built a garage
  • Went on our first vacation with Reagan
  • Zac finally got of the night shift
  • Lost all my baby weight then gained 15 back thanks to my eye and steroids.  (Nice)
  • Made new friends just to find out they were moving to Kentucky.  :(
  • Lost my job
  • Got a temporary job thanks to my dad
  • Zac's dad got sick and we got scared again.
  • Had our very first white Christmas and our first one with Reagan.

We had some good times and some bad this year but I think the one good thing out weighs ALL the bad ones.  We are SO blessed and I thank God everyday for that.  Everything happens for a reason and I can't wait to see what he has in store for us in 2011!  Happy New Year guys!!!

So This Is (was) Christmas.....

And what have we done?..... Well there was this...

which is my absolute favorite Christmas pic of all time!!

And this....

Lots and lots of presents...

A good bit of this for the first time EVER...

A lot of this as well for Reagan...

And plenty of this....time with family

Oh and definitely plenty of this....mmm cake.....

We had a great Christmas!!  It was amazing!  I still can't believe it snowed here!  Zac got me a Brave Love necklace from Lisa Leonard Designs.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!  This is it here...Brave Love.  It has all of our names at the bottom.  Sorry, I haven't gotten a pic of it yet!  I absolutely LOVE it!!!  Did I say that already?  Reagan got everything she needed plus more.  Santa brought her an excersaucer and a taggie blanket that she loves as well.  Santa didn't go overboard this year because he figured everybody else would.  He was right.  :)  I got Zac a Brew Your Our Beer kit which he loves.  Boy, I can't wait for that!  It makes 5 gallons at a time.  Nice.  My mom and dad surprised me with a laptop.  I was so shocked that I cried.  I just wasn't expecting to get something like that.  Don't you just love surprises!  They also got us a Handy Cam which is awesome.  We already have plenty of videos to share.  Aren't you excited.  I think we got everything we had hoped for.

Most of all we took time to remember the reason for Christmas.  Our savior was born!  We read the story straight from the bible.  That is my favorite part!   Of course Reagan doesn't understand it all right now but she will in time.  What I think is important is that we start our own traditions and teach her the real reason for Christmas.  It's not about toys and what we get its about Jesus.  Hopefully one day she will love to read it too.

I hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas!!

Goodbye Crossville Tile & Stone

I sit here in tears today as I write about a very sad day for me yesterday.  It seems I have become another statistic of the economy, I lost my job at a great company.  They said they were eliminating my position.  It was nothing that I did wrong they just had to cut back.  I am still a bit confused on why they picked me but I guess I have to just look past it.  Everything happens for a reason and God has a plan for me.  I just have to trust in Him and know that it will all be ok.  I just hope I can find something else soon.  If there is anybody hiring they probably aren't going to do so until the first of the year so I'm sure I will be unemployed at least for the month of December.  Why is it that companies let people go right at Christmas?  I guess they do it because it is the end of the year but it really sucks.  In my industry it is really hard to find a job right now.  I was really very blessed to have the job I did for so long.  I'm sure I'll have to do something non design related until something else comes up.  Which is fine, not what I would want, but fine.  What is most important is that I have the means to provided for my sweet angel.  Thankfully Zac still has his job but he can't keep us afloat by himself for too long.

A part of me wants to get mad and just scream about it.  Then the other part wants to just cry.  I had 6 years invested there.  Granted the last 2 were probably the best.  The other ones I would be happy to forget.  All in all I had friends there and don't regret too much.  I will miss everybody.  They are all great people and I loved being there with them everyday.  I think that is what makes it so hard.  I actually liked going to work.  Some days were stressful but what job doesn't have that.   There aren't too many people that can say they like their job but I truly did.

To my co-workers:
You guys were so good to me and I can't thank you enough for being my friends.  We all went through a lot and leaned on each other in the process.   I am so thankful for each and everyone of you.  All I ever wanted to do is help and I hope somewhere along the line I did help you.  I am thankful for what I learned from you all while I was there.  The information is invaluable and I will carry it with me all the time.  Thank you again for all the good times and I hopefully I will see you soon.

Thrifty Decor Chick

Check out this new blog I found!  This girl has some great ideas.  If you read her bio she said she decided to follow her dream of being an Interior Designer.  Well, with me having a degree in Interior Design I was intrigued to see what all she comes up with.   I think it's mostly like cute DIY crafty ideas for your home.  Which means I wouldn't necessarily call her an Interior Designer but that is a whole other post.  :)~  She does have some great ideas for your home that you can make yourself though.  I really like this one so I thought I would share.

Memo Board and Cute Magnets

What I like so much about it is the magnets she made.  It is really a great idea and your kids can even help with it.

Aren't these cute!  And you can use whatever paper you have to make them.  They don't have to be Christmas themed.

I really need to do this because our fridge is getting over run with coupons and junk.

Check out her post and you can learn how to make them yourself.  So cute!!

Reckless Raven

As most of you are aware, Zac brought home a black lab one night last year he found on one of his jobs.  She had a hard knock life up until then.  She was dropped off in the ghetto and forced to fend for herself.  Zac and all the guys he works with would feed her every night but then when his job was about to be over he couldn't stand to leave her out there.  So, we now have Raven.  She is a great dog but has a bad habit of just eating whatever she can find when she's hungry.  Maybe its the whole living on the streets thing.  We have a running list of what all Raven has eaten since we've had her.  Ready for this.....

  • A pizza box (I can't blame her.  It had cheese still stuck to it!)
  • A carpenter pencil
  • A plastic bowl
  • A plastic paint can lid
  • Numerous cat meals
  • Electrical tape (the whole roll)
  • Hardwood flooring
  • A plastic Lowes bag
  • One of Zac's running shoes
  • A paint stir stick
  • A paint roller
  • A blueberry bush
  • Numerous cat toys
As you can tell it's a long list and it just keeps growing.  And these are just the things we've caught her with.  And when I say ate, I really mean that.  Like nothing was left.  So it wasn't like she was just chewing like labs often do.  We have learned that if we don't feed her at a certain time she will just eat whatever is there.  Needless to say we are very careful about what we leave out.  No worries, I keep a good eye on Reagan.

The point of the story is that on Monday I noticed Raven having a hard time sitting.  When I would ask her to sit she either wouldn't or would kind of hobble.  Of course I was worried but Zac said it was nothing don't worry she just wants her treat.  Well he gets home on Tuesday and notices that she can't wag her tail.  We thought her tail bone might be broken so he called Dr. Bean's office and took her in.  After a thorough examination and $50 later they told him she had swollen anal glands and was constipated.  Constipated?  You don't say?  I mean she has a very balanced diet. ;)  I just can't imagine what would have made her that way.  (Refer to list above)  They gave her some steroids and said to bring her back if she wasn't better in a week.  I am happy to report that when I got home yesterday she was wagging her tail.  I can guess though that she isn't going to learn her lesson.  As we add to the list I'll update it.  I really gets to be comical at this point.

Watch Out for My Toofies!! (5 Months)

Not my toofies but Reagan's.  I can't believe that before she was officially 5 months old she had 2 teeth!  Its amazing!  I went to work on a Friday morning and when I got home that afternoon she had teeth.  I was shocked!  As you can imagine it is hard to get a picture of said toofies but I'm sure you can picture them in your head.  And if you try to feel them she will bite you.  Just so you know.  Did anybody else have kids that got teeth this early?!?

I haven't updated on miss Reagan lately so I figured I needed to.  When we went to see Dr. Blair for her 4 month check up she was 13.9 lbs (50%), 24" (55%) long and her head circumference was 16 1/4"(60%).  She must be really smart.  Ha!

She is doing a great job at rolling over.  We got video of it but of course I don't have my camera with me right now to post it. She will roll over then get mad because she is on her tummy.  It really is kind of funny.  She's getting better about it though.

She LOVES her furry sisters!  Every time we let them inside she just squeals.  It is the cutest thing.  She loves to pet them and they don't mind at all.  She'll touch their nose and pull on their jowls.  It's funny.  CoCo can only handle the squealing for so long though then she's done.  I can't wait until she is older and can really play with them.

She started eating veggies now.  So far she likes sweet potatoes and carrots but that is it.  When it comes to fruit she loves bananas, pears and prunes.  Yes, prunes.  She does great with her cereal.  She loves it now.  At first I thought I was never going to get her to eat it.

She is still a great sleeper.  We have had a few during the night wake-ups but I think that was just because she was teething.  She normally wakes up between 5:30-6 to eat.  I can hear her in there just "talking" to herself.  She doesn't cry or anything.  Just jabbers away.  I am so glad she is a good morning baby!

We recently got a new channel on Direct TV called Baby First TV.  It's all educational shows for babies.  We really like it and so does Reagan.  They show Baby Einstein and some other generic shows.  She has a few that she will really laugh at.  I'll prop her up on our bed in the mornings to watch it while I get ready for work.  She'll just sit there and watch it until its time to go.  It's really great!

I can't wait for the holidays to get here!  Mainly because I get to be off work and spent more time with my family.  I really love my family and love spending time with them.  Sometimes I think I must be the only one in the world who actually likes their family.  Ha!  But I honestly do.  So, yea for the holidays and starting new traditions with my own little family this year!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Happy Halloween

We had a great Halloween!  On Saturday we went to the Oktoberfest fest at our local park. It was much bigger than last year and I wasn't expecting that!  The first few pictures are from there.  They had a train, camel rides, food and all sorts of booths with arts and crafts.

That day Reagan got most of her "trick-or-treats" from the family members we saw so we didn't really have a place to take her that night.  We decided we would go out for our anniversary dinner to Chuy's.  It was A-MAZ-ING!  I love love that place.

Since we didn't get to take Reagan anywhere in her costume besides the park we took her around to the people who didn't get to see her.  Mainly her Papa Spanick.  She was a very cute bumble bee if I do say so myself!  It was a great weekend!!

"When I Said I Do,

I meant that I will 'til the end of all time
Be faithful and true, devoted to you
That's what I had in mind I said I do"

That was the song we danced to at our wedding 4 years ago today and its still remains the same.  I love you Zachary Spanick!

A few of my favorite pictures from that day.  Just a few because there were SO many I loved!

Baby Savings

I am just now getting to the point where I have to think about ways to save when it comes to things like diapers, wipes, formula and now baby food.  (Yes, I am very blessed to just now have to think about buying diapers!!  Thanks you!!)  So, I'm searching around looking at prices trying to determine who has the best deals before I have to actually buy some just so I'll know ahead of time.  I know a lot of people buy diapers from Diapers.com.  I wouldn't!  I don't think I'll buy anything from there actually because its not cheaper from what I can tell.  We have a membership to Sam's and they by far have the best deal.  This is how I've got it figured....

Diapers

Pampers size 1-2 Diapers.com 252 count = $44.99 = .18 per diaper
Walmart Pampers size 1-2 192 = $34.00 = .18 per diaper
Sam's Club Pampers size 1-2 252 count = $37.98 = .15 per diaper

Now, if you have coupons you might can get a better deal sometimes but Sam's accepts manufacturer coupons too and that is their everyday price.  So, if you have a coupon its even cheaper!

Formula

Diapers.com Similac Sensitive 6 pack 12 oz cans = $98.94 = $16.49 per can
Walmart Online Similac Sensitive 6 pack 12 oz cans = $89.28 = $14.88 per can
Sam's Similac Sensitve 6 pack 12 oz can = $59.95(+ last time we had a $5 off coupon) = $9.16 per can
(I've got enough coupons to last until March 2011)
That's $5.72 difference from Walmart and $7.33 from Diapers.com!!

Our membership cost us $35 a year.  That's $2.92 per month.  Even if we just buy formula once a month we are still saving more than we spend on the membership.  Not to mention the fact that we buy all our pet food at Sam's too and I haven't even started to figure that one up yet.  And you all know we HAVE to buy that in bulk!  Ha!

So, roughly, we will save about $160 a year just on diapers and formula.  And those aren't exact numbers.  If you've ever thought about getting a membership to a "buy-in-bulk" store I'd highly recommend it.  They will let you go in and just look around to price things out.  Just don't go by me either.  Do your own math about how you live and the things you buy.  Sometimes it may not work out.  It just depends on the type of things you buy and how often you need them.

Diaper Buds Review

I finally got a chance to try out the Diaper Buds I ordered.  (Read the first post here.)  We took a trip to Homestead Hollow last Saturday and I thought that would be the perfect place to try them out.  If you've never been to Homestead Hollow (shame on you!) it's an outdoor arts and crafts festival "in the country".  (I think we really just go for the food!  Ha!)  Anyway, your outside all day and you have to carry everything around with you. Not to mention the fact that you have to use the Port-O-John and its so crowded that unless your lucky you have to sit in the grass to eat.  Which is fine with me.  It all comes with the atmosphere.  So, anyway, perfect place to try out the vacuum packed diapers.  They fit in the diaper bag fine but I did feel like they could be a little thinner.  When we sat down to eat I changed Reagan and put her in one of the "Buds".  She stayed in it until we got home that afternoon.  We had no leaks or anything!  She actually really tested it out if "you know what I mean" and they worked great.

Now, I can say that they aren't going to replace your every day diapers but if you just need one to keep as an emergency in the car or something its great. It won't get wet and it will stay clean.  Like I said in the other post I think I'll probably get some when we take Reagan camping because if they get wet they won't get ruined and they won't get dirty either.  They would be good for any type of out door activity you might be doing.  They are still doing the "2 Buds for a Buck" deal until October 9th.  Today, they sent me an email asking me to do a survey and said they would send me a %15 off coupon on my next order.  Sweet!  I did it and it just asked how I like them and things like that.  It took all of 5 mins.  Now, I can order some and save some $$$.  Which I L. O. V. E. by the way.

*Update* Business in a Troubled Economy......?

So this is the response to an email I sent checking on one of my orders AGAIN.  Sorry I just had to....

I am embarrassed to tell you that I mailed them back to myself :/ Got them in the mail yesterday, can't believe I did that! I can drop them back in the mail in the a.m. or I can meet you or Chelsea tomorrow. Which ever works for you! I am so sorry! I was looking to find your number earlier so I could call you and got side tracked. Sad thing is this is not the first time in the past month that I have done this! My apologies!

Enough said....

Business in a Troubled Economy......?

*Be prepared because this post falls under my "Rants" section.  It bothers me so much for some reason that when I got up to feed Reagan this morning it's all I could think about so I had to post on it.*

With in the past few weeks I have had some issues with some people who "run" home businesses.  I mean come on people, I could run your business a million times better than you ever thought possible.  It really is ridiculous that with the economy the way it is people who own a business don't do the things they tell you they are going to do.

I have been VERY blessed that the economy has not effected me or my family.  (Shout out to Crossville Inc. for that!)  Therefore, I do have money to spend on things some times.  So, when I contact you to ORDER something YOU MAKE at your HOME as INCOME it would be nice to #1 actually get my order, #2 hear back from you about how much my order is so I can PAY you, #3 for you to do what you say the first time and not give me 3 or 4 different shipping dates,  #4 not have you cash my check a week before you "ship" my order I STILL haven't received, #5 not have you say "Oh yeah I remember something about that. Let me look again" when I ask you a SECOND time about the order you said you would place for me almost 2 weeks ago, #6 have you actually respond to my SECOND request, and #7 have you tell me you are having issues or something or give me some sort of explanation on why it is you are such a CRAPPY business person.  I understand that people have things come up.  Trust me, with all the surgeries that I have had this year, if ANYBODY understands it's me.  I would just like you to tell me that.  I'm fine with it!  Just don't give me a bunch of crap.

I think what bothers me the most is that these people make really good products.  I love their stuff and I would buy lots of it if they knew how to run a business.  I just don't understand how they think they can run a business the way they do.  They have such potential to make a lot of money and I feel like they are shooting themselves in the foot.  It's just irritating.

Needless to say, I won't be ordering anything else unless they wake up and realize what they are doing.  And I know other people who have had the same experiences I had and they won't be ordering anything else either.  Which is sad.  But oh well it's no skin off my back I guess but it sucks for me too just because I like the stuff.

Ok make up your mind already would ya!!

Verizon CEO: iPhone not coming any time soon
Verizon's CEO said the iPhone is not coming to the wireless carrier any time soon, at least until its new 4G, or fourth-generation cellular network is in place.

Speaking to investors Thursday, CEO Ivan Seidenberg said he hopes Apple will offer the phone on the carrier's 4G, or LTE network, which it is just starting to roll out later this year in a few dozen cities, and will not be completely ready until 2012.

"We don't feel like we have an iPhone deficit. We would love to carry it when we get there, but we have to earn it," Seidenberg said.

"I think 4G will accelerate the process, and any other decisions Apple makes would be fine with us. Hopefully, at some point Apple will get with the program."

Indications from some analysts have been that Apple is readying a CDMA version of the iPhone for use on Verizon in the first quarter of 2011. CDMA is the technology both Verizon and Sprint use on their current networks. AT&T, the exclusive carrier of the iPhone in the United States, and T-Mobile use GSM technology.

Both Verizon and AT&T are moving to LTE for the next-generation of cellular technology. LTE is better-equipped to handle cell phone data, including Web video and audio files, than the current third-generation, or 3G, technology. Verizon is likely to have LTE in place before AT&T, which is concurrently improving its 3G network and working on LTE.

AppleInsider reported Wednesday that Susquehanna Financial Group analyst Jeffrey Fidacaro "said in a note to investors ... that checks with overseas suppliers indicated Apple is prepared to build 3 million CDMA iPhones in December, keeping the device on track for an early 2011 launch" with Verizon.

Looks like I am just going to have to get the Droid and be done with it.  I'm tired of waiting and I sure as heck aren't waiting until 2012 Verizon!!

Another Article That It's Coming!

iPhone to Verizon!

A new analyst's report says that Apple is indeed getting a version of the iPhone ready that would run on Verizon Wireless' network.

Reports last June and March indicated the popular phone is on its way to Verizon in the year ahead. Since it first went on sale in 2007, the iPhone has been carried exclusively by AT&T in the United States, but that exclusivity agreement is expected to end.

AppleInsider says that Wednesday, Susquehanna Financial Group analyst Jeffrey Fidacaro "said in a note to investors ... that checks with overseas suppliers indicated Apple is prepared to build 3 million CDMA iPhones in December, keeping the device on track for an early 2011 launch" with Verizon, which uses CDMA technology for its network, as does Sprint. AT&T and T-Mobile use the more widespread GSM technology.

Apple, Verizon and AT&T are generally keeping tight-lipped about the iPhone, although AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson Tuesday played down concerns about losing iPhone subscribers to another carrier (primarily Verizon, AT&T's main competitor).

At a Goldman Sachs conference, Stephenson said about 80 percent of iPhone users are either in family plans or using the device through their companies, making it difficult for them to get out of their contracts.

Still, two new studies — one from Credit Suisse and another from Deloitte professional services firm — replicate other findings that cell phone users would be quite happy to see — and buy — the iPhone if it were on Verizon's network. AT&T has been working feverishly to upgrade its network to deal with data demands from smart phone customers, and in particular, those using the iPhone.

Reuters said Wednesday results of a study done by Deloitte found that close to half of iPhone users in the U.S. would be "very interested" in moving from AT&T to Verizon.

"If another carrier were to pick up the iPhone, you would probably see a number of defections," Ed Moran, director of insights and product innovation at Deloitte, told Reuters.

The Credit Suisse survey said that 63 percent of existing iPhone owners would stay with AT&T no matter what, according to SlashGear, but 28 percent would defect (23 percent to Verizon, 3 percent to Sprint, 2 percent to T-Mobile).

Earlier this month, Piper Jaffray found that for prospective buyers, not having the iPhone on Verizon's network is three times more of an issue than the iPhone 4's antenna problem when it comes to holding back buyers. (The phone's antenna wraps around the exterior of the phone, leading to reduced signal strength for some users, a problem remedied by the use of a rubber bumper).

And yet another firm, ChangeWave Research, said mid-summer in its survey of iPhone 4 owners that the phone's "biggest Achilles' heel ... remains AT&T," with 27 percent of owners saying they don't like having to use the carrier in order to have the iPhone, and 24 percent saying they dislike the coverage, speed and quality of AT&T's network.

Diaper Buds

I found this company the other day online and thought it was interesting.  These are vacuum packed diapers.  They are very tiny and can fit in your purse.  The company says they are as good as any other diaper you would buy.  Right now they are having a trail offer on their website for 2 diapers for $1 until October 9th.  Two diapers for $1!  I'll try that.  I figured even if they aren't great diapers I'll have at least gotten some use out of them because they are bound to hold a little something.  I thought they would be good for us to use on shopping trips, camping trips (because they won't get wet!) or even just to keep a few extras in the car for emergencies.  I ordered them and they came pretty quick.  They really are vacuum packed in a little plastic bag.  I haven't had a chance to use them yet but I will.  We are planning a trip to Homestead Hollow in a few weeks and I may try them out then.  I'll update late with a review and let you know how it goes.  Until then check them out if you have little ones and get 2 diapers for a buck!

Help!

OK so I seriously want to change the picture that shows up when I follow somebody but for some reason I can't #1 find out where to do it or #2 just aren't bright enough to figure it out.  I've changed my profile picture but apparently that isn't the same thing.  Not sure why, but it isn't.  It really should be though because it confuses me.  Anybody know?!?!

LatiBaby

This is a post from one of our vendors at work on his blog.  His name is Henry and he is the owner Laticrete International.  Laticrete is a huge world wide company for all things tile.  When Henry found out I was preggers he sent me a Laticrete shirt for Reagan.   I finally got a picture of her in it and sent it to him so he posted it on his blog for me.  Check it out!

Hi Mommy!

I came across this picture of Reagan at the beach and did some editing.  I just love it so I wanted to share!  :)

Almost like she is saying "Hi Mommy!"  Oh how my heart melts!

3 months!

Well here we are at 3 months with little miss Reagan.  She is doing great!  I can't believe it has gone by so fast.  Next thing you know she will be graduation from high school!  According to our estimates she weighs around 13 lbs now.  Not sure about her length but we see Dr. Blair again next month so we will find out then.  So excited about next month because we get to start cereal and baby food!  She does good at night but I sure would love for her to sleep from 8 or 9 to at least 6 or 7.  Not sure if cereal will help or not but we shall see.  Her sleeping schedule isn't too bad though.  She will normally have her last bottle between 9-10 then sleep until 4 or 5.  I don't feel like that is too bad because I have to get up at 5 anyway for work.  I'm glad to be back at work but I do miss her.  Its hard to go from seeing her all day every day to only seeing her at night.  Maybe I shouldn't wish for her to go to sleep earlier!  Its hard at night too though because Zac is still working nights.  I can't wait until he is back on days!  Hopefully it will be soon.  I got to see him more when I was home and now I wont see him as much either :(.  I will though soon.  Just a few more months maybe.

Reagan really is starting to get a little personality too.  She smiles a lot and notices me more and more now.  I just love that!  She is a GREAT morning baby!  I really hope that continues.  It will help me so much if it does.  Her hair is still red for now.  I hope that stays too.  She has started to loose some of it though.  :(  Hopefully the new hair that grows will be red too!!  I know she will probably hate it if it's red but I will love it.

Here is some of that red hair for ya!!

I'll keep updating on her as we go.  I just can't wait to see her personality really come alive and see her grow.  I <3 her so much!!

As far as surgeries for me,  I go back to see Dr. Mason on Friday for my 1 week post-op.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good news.  I really don't want to have any more surgery.  Nor, can I afford to be off work anymore!

Have a great rest of the week friends!!

Reagan and Carter's First Vacation!

We had a blast at the beach last week!  We had a 2 bed/2 bath condo on Okaloosa Island in Ft Walton.  Its a little bit away from the busy Destin but it was still a great trip.  It was so quite and peaceful.  There weren't many people there at all.  Probably just because school has started back and all.  We left on Friday afternoon and headed south.  Me, Zac, Reagan, Granddaddy, MiMi, Chelsea, Carter and Rachael.  We had to leave a little later because Zac worked the night before and he needed to sleep some before the long journey.  It took us a little over 5 hours to get there.  We had to stop once so Reagan could eat but it only took about 30 mins.  She did so good on the car ride.  She slept most of the time.  Once we got past Eglin AFB she decided she had been in the car seat enough and wanted to be out.  But other than that she did great!  Carter did really great too!  He slept some too but he had entertainment in the back with him so that helped.  We got there at about 6 that night and had to get in the room then GO EAT!  Which is the 2nd most important thing to do at the beach.  The first being the beach itself.  It was Rachael's b-day so we let her choose where to eat but it was too late to go into Destin so we settled with Floyds.  It was really good though.

Getting ready to go!

We had to stop and eat

Look we made it!

Zac and Reagan on the balcony.

Zac, Reagan, Chelsea, Carter and I had planned on coming home on Tuesday.  Zac had to work and Chelsea had class.  But, at the last minute my dad talked me and Reagan into staying.  I wanted to stay but then again I didn't want Zac to go and be home alone.  Silly me, he probably wanted some alone time after the trip!  It was hard to see them all go though.  We vowed that next year we would all have to stay the entire time because your not supposed to cry on vacation.  Ha!

Before everybody left we did get a day to spend with out the babies.  Thank you Mimi and Granddaddy! We hit up the outlet mall, played some miniature golf, and of course rode some go-carts!  We all had a blast even though it was 1 million degrees!  And let me just say that I am so glad we go to the beach close to my b-day because I don't know what I would do with out our annual trip to the Coach outlet!  And they were having a sale this time too!!

Ready to go shopping!

We did take Reagan out to the beach and the pool everyday but we waited until the afternoon when it wasn't as hot.  She slept on the beach mainly but it was fine with me.  A couple of days we walked on the beach to pick up shells and I did see one little tar ball.  It was about the size of a quarter.  Only one though so no big deal.  There were a few BP people there picking up stuff real early in the morning but that one was the only thing I saw.

Oh and I almost forgot the most exciting event that took place while we were there!  At about 5 am on Sunday Zac and I got up to feed Reagan.  Now normally this is a 30 min process and every body goes right back to sleep for about 4 more hours.  Well not this morning!  As I was feeding her the fire alarm started going off.  We thought at first that it was the smoke detectors in our condo.  Oh no!  It was the entire complex!  And it was freakin loud!  I was sure it was a false alarm but I wasn't going to find out with my baby in my arms!  I grabbed Reagan, her bottle and my flip flops and was in the parking lot before the rest of my family got there. Thank god I had already put my pajama pants on!  It was crazy.  There were lights flashing and the most horrible beeping noise you've ever heard.  Zac called the fire dept. and they came and checked everything out.  We heard one of them say "Clear!" and that was all it took.  Back up we went for a few more hours of sleep.  We never found out what happened though.  All in all it was about 6 when we got back to the room.  Not too bad for me anyway because I'm used to being up.  Here is a little picture of the fire truck.  Its kind of hard to see but all we had were cell phone cameras.

Needless to say we had a fabulous time.  We can't wait to go back next year when Reagan is older.  Here are a few more pics of our trip.

Big waves on this day.

Crabby but Cute!

Reagan's first airbrushed shirt!

Sandy baby toes :)

Its hard to see but its her footprint in the sand.

More Surgery. :'(

I have been working on a post about the beach but this one I really need to write.  Some times it helps me process things better after I write (or type in this case) stuff down.  It looks like I am going to have to have ANOTHER surgery on Wed. next week.  They just can't get my retina to stay on like it should.  With all the surgeries I've had it has created a bunch of scar tissue and keeps pulling the retina up.  My last option is for them to go in and remove some tissue and put a band around my eye to compress it.  Its a 4 hour surgery and according to my doc its a painful recovery.  You can read about it HERE if you would like to.  That is why they do all the other surgeries first b/c they aren't as painful.  I was supposed to go back to work on Tuesday but now I can't.  I'm really bummed about it.  I had all my work clothes pulled out and took some to the cleaners.  I really want to go back to work and now this.  I'm not cut out to be a stay at home mommy.  I love being here with Reagan and spending as much time with her as I can but I'm made to have a career.  I really don't want to have another surgery either.  This will be my 7th total.  Eventually, I'm going to have my own filing cabinet at The Eye Foundation!  I should just start writing my checks directly to Dr. Mason.  I hope he gets a beach house or something from all the surgeries he's done on me.

Thankfully, work is going to let me be off another week.  Dr. Mason said I could go back on the following Monday.  I don't get paid or anything but that is fine.  As long as I have a job I'm good.  I just really hope this time works.  If not, I'm not sure what the next step is.  I'm pretty sure I'll loose sight in it all together.  Dr. mason said that was a good chance that by the time I'm 40 I'll loose it anyway.  It really sucks but at least I have one good eye to see Reagan grow up with.  I'm just having a hard time with this one.  The last one bothered me too but this one seems worse.  I guess just because I'm ready to be finished.  I'm tired of it.  I just wish he could fix it and i could see again but that isn't going to happen.  It really just makes me thankful I don't have any other health issues.  I just hope this other eye stays strong.  I don't know what I will do if something happens to it.  Please keep me in your prayers.  This one is going to be rough but I have to put it in God's hands.  I have to let him handle it.  Please Lord stay by my side and help me through this!

Reagan Update

It has been some time since I have posted.  So sorry!  A little busy these days.  I am still trying to write thank you cards for all the gifts we have gotten!  So sorry if you gave us a gift and I haven't sent a thank you card yet!!  I promise I'm working on them a little every day between washing clothes, tending to Reagan and keeping the house semi clean.

Yesterday was Reagan's 2 month birthday I guess you could say.  We went to see Dr. Blair today.  She weighs 11 lbs and is 22 1/4" long.    She is really growing fast.  He said she was in the 50% all the way around and was perfectly healthy.  she got 4 shots and was not a happy camper.  I felt so bad for her.  she only cried for a few minutes though and has been fine the rest of the day.

Here are a few things she is doing now: She is trying really hard to hold her head up.  She does really good for a few mins then it just flops back down.  But it shouldn't be too long before she can hold it up on her own.  She smiles a good bit now when you talk to her.  My dad can make her do it the most.  It is precious!  She is a great morning baby!  She will smile and giggle at me when she gets up in the morning.  Its great!  As far as sleeping, she has slept through the night for about a week now.  We finally moved her to her crib and she has done great in it.  Of course, now that I just said that she won't do it tonight.  She doesn't cry much unless something is wrong.  But boy when she does cry she screams.  We have had a little problem with constipation the last few days and she hasn't been very happy.  The dr. told me to give her apple juice 2x a day and it took about 2 days to work.  I never thought I would see the day when I was excited when a baby pooped!  Ha!  She makes the "lizard face" when she is hungry.  Here is a video of her doing it:

We think it's funny.  These are the things we will embarrass her with then she is older.  She really likes the Baby Einstein play mat.  She will lay on it for a little while and just smile and giggle at the lights and music.  We are headed to the beach next week and are so excited.  Anybody taken a 2 month old to the beach before?  Any suggestions?  I'll post on that with pics when we get back.  Until then here are a few pics we have taken lately.
